Christ Ahnsahnghong – Guilty by Association
Christ Ahnsahnghong and the fallacy of guilt by association
Many of the websites that speak negatively about Christ Ahnsahnghong and the World Mission Society Church of God use the same logic, that logic is “guilty by association.” Guilt by association is defined as an inductive informal fallacy, which is also known as a hasty generalization. Pretty much, if it quacks like a duck and walks like a duck, it’s a duck, and anything that comes from that same country, is also a duck! This fallacy is made as an appeal to emotion and is not based on facts.
Some examples of guilt by association are as follows:
- Peter is a criminal. Peter is from California. Therefore, all the people from California are criminals.
- Tom, John, Chris, and Will are all friends of Ray, and they are all corrupt politicians. Tammy is a friend of Ray. Therefore, Tammy is a corrupt politician.
2,000 years ago Jesus was a victim of this fallacy. When Jesus was crucified, He was crucified between two criminals. Although Jesus Himself was not a criminal, I am sure that those who did not know Jesus Christ automatically judged Him and thought of Him as being a criminal as a result of association.
This is the same thing people try to do with the World Mission Society Church of God and Christ Ahnsahnghong. They speak about the Unification Church and Sun Myung Moon, then they say that the World Mission Society Church of God and Christ Ahnsahnghong must be the same since it started in South Korea.
In reality, there are absolutely no similarities in the teachings of the World Mission Society Church of God and the Unification Church. The Unification Church teaches principles that do not come from the Bible, as per their official website:
“Sun Myung Moon studied the Bible and many other religious teachings in order to unravel these mysteries of life and human history.”
The World Mission Society Church of God and the teachings of Christ Ahnsahnghong come strictly from the Bible and nothing else. The Unification Church keeps Sunday service, Christmas and all other teachings that do not come from the Bible. The World Mission Society Church of God keeps the Passover and the Sabbath of the New Covenant just as Jesus taught 2,000 years ago.
So instead of judging by standards of association with other religious groups, why don’t you try to understand Christ like the disciples did 2,000 years ago?
How did the disciples recognize Jesus 2,000 years ago?
John 4:41-42 – “And because of his words many more became believers. They said to the woman, ‘We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the savior of the world.’”
2,000 years ago, the first thing people considered was His teachings. It was because of His teachings that the people believed He was the savior of the world. What was the second thing they considered?
John 1:44-45 – “Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida. Philip found Nathanael and told him, ‘We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote – Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.’”
The second thing the disciples considered was how Jesus fulfilled all the prophecies of the Old Testament. Then it was because of His teachings and the prophecies He fulfilled that the disciples were able to recognize Jesus Christ as the Savior.
In the same way, it is because of what He taught and the prophecies He fulfilled that I believe Christ Ahnsahnghong is the second coming of Christ – not because of what people say about Him or by how popular He is.
From my research, I can confidently say that there are no similarities between the Unification Church and the World Mission Society Church of God.

The WMSCOG is absolutely nothing like the Unification Church. Just because they both started in the same country doesn’t mean that they’re the same church. By studying the prophecies in the Bible, we can recognize that the WMSCOG is the church that was established by Christ Himself.

It is sad to see how people try to compare the Unification Church with The WMSCOG, when they share nothing in common, except that they are both from South Korea. The Unification Church keeps pagan traditions such as Sunday worship and Christmas, which is nowhere to be found in the Bible. The WMSCOG keeps the Sabbath Day (Saturday) which is the 4th commandment in the Bible (Ex 20:8) and also they celebrate the New Covenant Passover which Christ established for us to receive forgiveness of sins (Mt 26:17-28). I’m so thankful to be part of The WMSCOG which is the only church in the world that keeps all the laws of God according to the Bible!

The Unification Church is just another catholic church keeping Sunday worship and other pagan holidays.
Rev 17:5 “The name written on her forehead was a mystery: babylon the great the mother of prostitutes and of the abominations of the earth.” The mother of the Unification church is the Catholic Church. Theres not that much to be said about the people who make any points to the contrary except that it is quite sad to see so much time dedicated to achieve something that God will never allow to happen. This is why the World Mission Society Church of God continues to grow by the thousands every month. If the Unification Church and the World Mission Society Church of God are the same why do they keep separate teachings and why doesn’t the Unifcation Church volunteer all around the world the same way that the World Mission Society Church of God does and receive the same Presidential Volunteer Service Awards as the World Mission Society Church of God does? These claims are just preposterous and senseless and have no credibility whatsoever. I wonder if the individuals on this website who are bringing many false accusations are also doing the same against the unification church or the catholic church? My guess is probably not. Very sad…very, very, sad.-

I do believe in Christ Ahnsahnghong because He fulfills all characteristics of Second Coming Christ and He didn’t use resources apart from the Bible and He reminded us of the Passover and Feasts of God for forgiveness. I have to say He is God. There’s no other way for me to describe Him. I hope all people recognize World Mission Society Church of God as legitimite Christ Ahnsahnghong as God on the basis of the Bible too.

This method of generalization is very irresponsible and can be very hurtful. I am very familiar with guilt by association although I never knew that was what it was when I was growing up. I experienced some difficult times as a child because I am of German decent. Some people called me a Nazi because I had blond hair and blue eyes. They would say I was “Hitler youth,” even though my character did not match that of the Nazis. I was a nazi because I was German. I was shocked when I saw that they said the same about Jesus 2000 years ago. Nazareth? Has anything good ever come from there? My parents taught me to judge people based on their character. I always try to see for myself, so I can learn and judge what is correct and what is not. Only then do I feel comfortable in making intelligent decisions about anything.

So many people of the world today use this specific fallacy. It’s become a natural human error. I have been victim of this fallacy as well. Just because I came from a very small town in Arizona which had it’s own generalizations, people from bigger cities attributed those generalizations to all people in the town, including me. It’s hurtful and to those on the receiving end it makes no sense.
Even when I first started to attend the World Mission Society Church of God, my closest friends came to me with the same logic. They researched the Moonies and came to the conclusion that the WMSCOG the Unification Church were the SAME! All because of the “similar” teachings and the fact that they originated in South Korea. I was absolutely mind blown. This article is really perfect for that situation. We’re often told never to judge a person from the outside, but what’s on the inside. Then why do people continually judge the WMSCOG from the outside, and never actually use logical, factual evidence from the Bible when it comes to “judgment”? Who are we to judge anyway? God is the Almighty, the one who will bring judgment in the end. People always think they have their own standards to judge people by. However, our standards and thoughts are not God’s standards nor are they God’s thoughts (Isaiah 55:8).Then it makes sense to avoid following the mindset of the entire world, and instead latch onto the mindset of Christ and follow the standards implemented by God.

Simple yet powerful article. If it was the same church then everything would be the same! Since it was established by two separate people who clearly had two separate teachings, one based on the bible and the other based on multiple religious teaching that never had any origin in the bible it’s clear to see how different the Unification church and the WMSCOG are. It’s surprising that people would even believe that they’re the same just because they came from South Korea.

I am so thankful for this post. How can all our lives, we base every decision on the opinions of men or based on association? People make so many generalizations based on comparisons that cannot be compared. In order to make a comparison between two fruits, they have to be of the same category. Due to the fact that the Unification Church and the World Mission Society Church of God came from the same country has absolutely no ground of comparison. The only factor that should be considered prior to associating them together would have to be based on the teachings that are found on the inside of the two groups. Thankfully we are able to distinguish based on the teachings found inside of the Bible the difference between the two.

How can people be so ignorant? With this logic all Asians must be Chinese and all Latinos must be Mexican. Instead of branding or judging because of looks or their origins just go to the source and ask questions and find out for yourself. I’ve been going to The World Mission Society Church of God for almost 3 years now and I can say that they take their teachings directly from the Bible and no affiliation with The Unification Church.

It’s a rather ignorant statement that the Church of God World Mission Society is the same as the Unification Church because both churches originated from Korea. They are two different churches! That doesn’t make any sense!
What is amazing is the the church that the true Christ, Christ Ahnsahnghong, established in this last age is undergoing the same situation He did when He was Jesus 2000 yrs ago. It just shows further evidence that this IS the true church.
This article also shows that people today truly don’t know how to recognize Christ, like what we should do to be able to know that it’s Him. It’s like we’re taught from young to reject anything and anyone who is proclaimed as Christ but we have no idea how the real Christ should come. So when the true Christ does appear contrary to our expectations we reject salvation from God who’s trying hard to give it to us. Jesus said the Holy Spirit is to remind us of everything He taught 2000 years ago, but people today have no idea what Jesus taught so they can’t recognize the Holy Spirit who restores those teachings. Also all of the prophets of the Old and New Testament testified about the 2nd Coming Christ, but people today have no clue about the prophecies of the Bible so they can’t recognize the one who fulfilled them. Truly God’s people are destroyed by the lack of knowledge. (Hos. 4:6)

Christ Ahnsahnghong fulfilled so many prophecies throughout the whole Bible from the Old to the New Testament. He restored the Passover and opened the eyes of many to discern the truth from falsehood. This article is so helpful to those who have not broken their fixed concepts about Christ Ahnsahnghong and his work of salvation that he established.

It is incredible how rash the decisions are that people make when it comes to viewing the prophesies of the Bible. They claim and boast that they have %100 salvation absolutely guaranteed to them although they do not even recognize who their God really is. It does not matter what amazing feats or great works someone accomplishes when trying to distinguish who God is or if a church is true and sent by God. It is only through the book that God gave us that we can know in our heart the True church from the false ones. Christ said in Luke 18:8 that there will be no true faith found upon the Earth in the last days. Thankfully heavenly Father has come and restored to us the Truth so we can see who our Savior really is. Regardless of what people say, their influence should never become in between God and His children, only looking at the facts and prophesies in the Bible. Thanks to heavenly Father Christ Ahnsahnghong for His coming and leading His sheep back into the pasture!

Through this article we can clearly see that the Unification church and the church of God has nothing in common except that they both started in S. Korea. The unification church follows lawlessness such as Sunday worship, Christmas and other teachings not from the bible. However, Church of God keeps only teachings from the bible not disregarding one. So, how can these two be compared to one another their totally different. Christ Ahnsahnghong fulfilled all the bible prophecies and led us to the true salvation which is our Mother. All thanks and praise to our Father Christ Ahnsahnghong for teaching us all the hidden secrets of the bible. Matt 11:11 He replied because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you but not to them. We can see by this verse that their are secrets about the K.O.H. Only by coming and studying by the one who revealed to us those secrets through the bible can you understand. I hope everyone reading this article can have an open mind to not base their decision to come on the Unification church which in reality is totally different then the Church of God.

People are so eager to say everyone is a false Christ without knowing the prophecies about the true Christ. We MUST know the prophecies God gave us… Christ Ahnsahnghong is hard to believe in for many people because he is from South Korea and has a long unfamiliar name but thats why the bible continuously emphasizes the importance of knowing the prophecies and having faith in the word of God instead of the human opinion. -
Amen! Christ Ahnsahnghong is true God because he fulfilled all bible prophecy!
