Christ Ahnsahnghong – Guilty by Association

Christ on the Cross with two Criminals

Christ Ahnsahnghong and the fallacy of guilt by association

Many of the websites that speak negatively about Christ Ahnsahnghong and the World Mission Society Church of God use the same logic, that logic is “guilty by association.”  Guilt by association is defined as an inductive informal fallacy, which is also known as a hasty generalization.  Pretty much, if it quacks like a duck and walks like a duck, it’s a duck, and anything that comes from that same country, is also a duck! This fallacy is made as an appeal to emotion and is not based on facts.

Some examples of guilt by association are as follows:

  • Peter is a criminal. Peter is from California. Therefore, all the people from California are criminals.
  • Tom, John, Chris, and Will are all friends of Ray, and they are all corrupt politicians. Tammy is a friend of Ray. Therefore, Tammy is a corrupt politician.

2,000 years ago Jesus was a victim of this fallacy. When Jesus was crucified, He was crucified between two criminals. Although Jesus Himself was not a criminal, I am sure that those who did not know Jesus Christ automatically judged Him and thought of Him as being a criminal as a result of association.

This is the same thing people try to do with the World Mission Society Church of God and Christ Ahnsahnghong. They speak about the Unification Church and Sun Myung Moon, then they say that the World Mission Society Church of God and Christ Ahnsahnghong must be the same since it started in South Korea.

In reality, there are absolutely no similarities in the teachings of the World Mission Society Church of God and the Unification Church. The Unification Church teaches principles that do not come from the Bible, as per their official website:

“Sun Myung Moon studied the Bible and many other religious teachings in order to unravel these mysteries of life and human history.”

The World Mission Society Church of God and the teachings of Christ Ahnsahnghong come strictly from the Bible and nothing else.  The Unification Church keeps Sunday service, Christmas and all other teachings that do not come from the Bible. The World Mission Society Church of God keeps the Passover and the Sabbath of the New Covenant just as Jesus taught 2,000 years ago.

So instead of judging by standards of association with other religious groups, why don’t you try to understand Christ like the disciples did 2,000 years ago?

How did the disciples recognize Jesus 2,000 years ago?

John 4:41-42 – “And because of his words many more became believers. They said to the woman, ‘We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the savior of the world.’”

2,000 years ago, the first thing people considered was His teachings. It was because of His teachings that the people believed He was the savior of the world. What was the second thing they considered?

John 1:44-45 – “Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida. Philip found Nathanael and told him, ‘We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote – Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.’

The second thing the disciples considered was how Jesus fulfilled all the prophecies of the Old Testament. Then it was because of His teachings and the prophecies He fulfilled that the disciples were able to recognize Jesus Christ as the Savior.

In the same way, it is because of what He taught and the prophecies He fulfilled that I believe Christ Ahnsahnghong is the second coming of Christ – not because of what people say about Him or by how popular He is.

From my research, I can confidently say that there are no similarities between the Unification Church and the World Mission Society Church of God.

If you want to understand about Christ Ahnsahnghong correctly, please come and study the Bible at the World Mission Society Church of God.

I think it’s pretty obvious that the WMSCOG and the unification church are completely different. It’s really a no brainier on this one. If you think they’re the same, then you might want to read this article through a few more times. Love this post!

Yes, i agree that we can never make quick assumptions based of hasty generalizations, especially when it concerns the true Church of God. We must base our opinions from sound proof, which can we find countless times in the scriptures. Just as the disciples 2000 years ago. They were able to see the truth through the fulfillment of prophecy and through God’s words, thus receiving salvation. Lets follow this example, that God has given us. Then we will be able to see that 2nd coming Christ Ahnsahnghong was already prophesied to come from the east in S.Korea, and was to establish the WMSCOG and to reveal our Heavenly Mother, according to Bible prophecy. Amen!

Wow great examples! It’s so true! Just because Christ was crucified between two criminals does not make him a criminal. In the same way, my friends’ love for the color blue doesn’t give me warm fuzzies when I look up at the sky. If we don’t use that logic when classifying ourselves, how could we ever try and judge God based on such faulty thinking? What Jesus did, said, and the path he walked made him God,not whom he chose to associate with. Definitely a great article.

It’s very clear how Father AHNSAHNGHONG fulfilled the prophecies in the bible. Then why? Because it testifies about the one who will bring salvation, what is the purpose of the bible? Is it to follow people’s opinions or thoughts? Or is it to follow the One who can save us? The Unification church foundation and WMSCG teachings contain HUGE differences because the Unification church did not teach the sign where salvation will come from. It is important for us to distinguish what is truth from falsehood. Because of so many misinterpretations, God Himself must come to teach the Bible because He is the author. Faith does not exist in these last days, which is why He will restore it. (Luke 18:8) I believe the One who came to restore that faith is our Heavenly Father Christ Ahnsahnghong because of the teachings through the bible He Himself taught. No one was keeping the Feast of God until he came. Thanks to our Father and Mother for their salvation.

Prior to reading this, I had actually never heard of the Unification Church and Sun Myung Moon. Sadly, it doesn’t surprise me that people draw similarities between this organization and the WMSCOG out of ignorance and disbelief—both playing into the logic, or lack thereof, in guilt by association. I find it ironic that the same tactics used 2,000 years ago by religious leaders in opposition to Jesus are still being employed today. But luckily, nothing is stopping us from using the same resources as the disciples used in Christ’s first coming to identify the savior; that is, the Bible prophecies and Christ’s actual teachings.

I am thankful to base my opinion of Christ Ahnsahnghong upon logic (as opposed to emotions) and what He achieved in His life on this earth. I wish everyone had the opportunity to study “correctly,” as the author has put it, about Christ Ahnsahnghong.

i am proud to be associated with Christ Ahnsahnghong! for this means i share in his suffering so i may also share in his glory (Ro 8:16-18). if you to wish to share in His glory than you need to vist you the nearest WMSCOG and study the prophecy and see it for your self.

With this article it is clear how bias people’s minds can be based on certain situations that may ironically happen more than once. Just think about how many of the people that was in the crowd of the decision to jesus’ Crucifixion actually knew what Jesus was being crucified for, some may have saw the crowed and just climbed abored the hate train. Making him guilty just by the crowed. But thanks to God things had to be done so prophecies can be fulfilled. Many people believe that since Sunday is the most rated day of worship that it must be the right day, so they mistakenly jump abored the wrong train but in actuality the Lord’s day is the Sabbath day. When we come to think about it God’s people noticed him through the prophecies in the Bible that he fulfilled at his first coming. He also fulfilled prophecies in his second coming that makes me understand and believe that he is true God.

This article helps me distinguish between truth and false. God is perfect. I am so thankful to belong to the church that follows the path of salvation which is in Christ. Unfortunately their has to be false in order to make us recognize truth.

I’ve found this article to be very direct, clear and to the point. Actually, we have probably all fell victim at some point to the fallacy of “guilty by association”… For example, when a kid is friends with a known “troublemaker”, people assume he is also. Two radically different churches happened to come from one country certainly does not mean they can be grouped together. That’s unfair in any situation. If you want to examine the Church of God, it is best to do so by itself and not grouped with another organization. The Church of God being grouped with Unification church because both come from S Korea is sort of like Jesus 2,000 years ago, when people thought He could not be the Messiah
because He came from Galilee and he ate with tax collectors and sinners. He was “guilty by association” and rejected as God in the flesh. Why? Because people at the time even the Pharisees (who knew the words in the Scripture very well), could not grasp what the bible was really telling them in prophecies. I just want to thank Elohim God for allowing me to understand the prophecies in the bible 🙂 God bless you.
