Christ Ahnsahnghong – Guilty by Association

Christ on the Cross with two Criminals

Christ Ahnsahnghong and the fallacy of guilt by association

Many of the websites that speak negatively about Christ Ahnsahnghong and the World Mission Society Church of God use the same logic, that logic is “guilty by association.”  Guilt by association is defined as an inductive informal fallacy, which is also known as a hasty generalization.  Pretty much, if it quacks like a duck and walks like a duck, it’s a duck, and anything that comes from that same country, is also a duck! This fallacy is made as an appeal to emotion and is not based on facts.

Some examples of guilt by association are as follows:

  • Peter is a criminal. Peter is from California. Therefore, all the people from California are criminals.
  • Tom, John, Chris, and Will are all friends of Ray, and they are all corrupt politicians. Tammy is a friend of Ray. Therefore, Tammy is a corrupt politician.

2,000 years ago Jesus was a victim of this fallacy. When Jesus was crucified, He was crucified between two criminals. Although Jesus Himself was not a criminal, I am sure that those who did not know Jesus Christ automatically judged Him and thought of Him as being a criminal as a result of association.

This is the same thing people try to do with the World Mission Society Church of God and Christ Ahnsahnghong. They speak about the Unification Church and Sun Myung Moon, then they say that the World Mission Society Church of God and Christ Ahnsahnghong must be the same since it started in South Korea.

In reality, there are absolutely no similarities in the teachings of the World Mission Society Church of God and the Unification Church. The Unification Church teaches principles that do not come from the Bible, as per their official website:

“Sun Myung Moon studied the Bible and many other religious teachings in order to unravel these mysteries of life and human history.”

The World Mission Society Church of God and the teachings of Christ Ahnsahnghong come strictly from the Bible and nothing else.  The Unification Church keeps Sunday service, Christmas and all other teachings that do not come from the Bible. The World Mission Society Church of God keeps the Passover and the Sabbath of the New Covenant just as Jesus taught 2,000 years ago.

So instead of judging by standards of association with other religious groups, why don’t you try to understand Christ like the disciples did 2,000 years ago?

How did the disciples recognize Jesus 2,000 years ago?

John 4:41-42 – “And because of his words many more became believers. They said to the woman, ‘We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the savior of the world.’”

2,000 years ago, the first thing people considered was His teachings. It was because of His teachings that the people believed He was the savior of the world. What was the second thing they considered?

John 1:44-45 – “Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida. Philip found Nathanael and told him, ‘We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote – Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.’

The second thing the disciples considered was how Jesus fulfilled all the prophecies of the Old Testament. Then it was because of His teachings and the prophecies He fulfilled that the disciples were able to recognize Jesus Christ as the Savior.

In the same way, it is because of what He taught and the prophecies He fulfilled that I believe Christ Ahnsahnghong is the second coming of Christ – not because of what people say about Him or by how popular He is.

From my research, I can confidently say that there are no similarities between the Unification Church and the World Mission Society Church of God.

If you want to understand about Christ Ahnsahnghong correctly, please come and study the Bible at the World Mission Society Church of God.

What a clear explanation to how and why the people denied their Savior 2,000 years ago. They never received Jesus because they only focused on the exterior appearance of their Savior. But by doing that, that resulted in them being completely blind to see Jesus was in actuality teaching them the truth and the way to eternal life and fulfilling the words of the scriptures they themselves regarded as precious. Their looking only at the exterior made them blind and cut them off from receiving salvation from Jesus. What a sad end. That is a end we must try our very BEST to avoid and use as a lesson to prepare with because God is here again.

  2. A'Yana Morgan

We should not make hasty generalizations concerning our salvation. Those who make these type of generalizations will never be able to meet God. For example, do you think that those who judged Jesus Christ as a criminal since He was crucified on the cross between two criminals were able to believe in Him? No! So since they did not believe in Him, could they have salvation? No! Instead of making generalizations about the World Mission Society Church of God, we should try to understand how the disciples recognized God who came in the flesh as a man 2,000 years ago. We should understand how the disciples recognized Jesus as God because in Hebrews 9:28 it states that Christ will appear a second time in the flesh. The disciples recognized Jesus as the savior because of His teachings and because He fulfilled all the prophecies in the Old Testament. They did not make hasty generalizations about Christ or believe because someone told them to. In the same way, we cannot make generalizations about the World Mission Society Church of God and comparing them to the Unification Church because both started in South Korea. Instead we need to see which church focuses on the teachings in the bible and understands the prophecies concerning Christ at His first and second coming.

  3. Lenwood

So, we compare two things that come from the same place. And, that somehow makes them the same thing?

    REALLY?

The same metal used in gun barrels is used for baby carriages too! Are these people going to rob a bank with a stroller!?!

For the intelligent Christian, there are ONLY two ways to recognize Christ, who is the object of their faith:

    1.) What does he teach?

    2.) What does he fulfill?

The book used in the Christian faith is called the BIBLE.
If you do not source the bible then you are not teaching Christian-faith-anything!! This ‘Moonie’ guy is sourcing other stuff!?!

Forget about comparing him to Christ. He’s not even a REAL ‘Christian’!!!

If you read the bible and understand it, then to believe in the bible is to believe in God. To believe in God, is to believe in Jesus. And, to believe in Jesus is to realize Christ AhnSahngHong.

Jesus said 2000 years ago, blessed are those who don’t fall away on account of me, meaning his appearance.

This article is about two Korean men. One is Jehova God. The other…not even Christian.

Come to Zion, Read the bible.
    I think you’ll get the point…

  4. Alex B.

The Zion at which I attend had an event in March of last year, for which we made posters testifying the history of the Passover and Father and Mother. After looking at the posters and hearing how Father brought the Passover back in 1948, one man asked me if I was a Moonie. I didn’t know who Moon was at the time, so I looked at man, looked at Father’s picture (which had His name on it), looked back at the man, looked back at Father’s picture and asked him where he had gotten Moon from based off of the information on the posters. Even despite the fact that he saw Father’s name, he still managed to associate us with Moon. Why is that? First of all, the man had no knowledge of what Moon taught (or what he didn’t teach, e.g. Passover), just that he proclaimed himself to be the second coming of Christ. Second of all, he associated the WMSCOG with the Unification Church after I told him that we started in Korea. This just goes to show you how quick people are to associate the WMSCOG to something negative out of plain ignorance of the Bible and of the life of Christ Ahnsahnghong. Please come to study the Bible in order to know the facts about Second Coming Christ and Christ Ahnsahnghong before stating things out of complete ignorance.

  5. Diane

I am learning the bible. I am a little confused by what has been written here. I am not aware that Jesus was recognized as the saviour because of his teaching. Even in the passage you quote from John 4, Jesus directly told the Samaritan woman that he is the messiah. Did AhnSahngHong claim that he was 2CC?
You said, “From my research, I can confidently say that there are no similarities between the Unification Church and the World Mission Society Church of God.”
Isn’t this an exaggeration? There are obvious similarities like the country of origin, the claim of 2CC, the mother, etc. You might arguably claim that the differences are more significant than the similarities but the statement you make is logically incorrect.

    • The True WMSCOG

In the passage that I’m quoting in the article, my point is not on when Jesus met the woman, but about when Jesus met the other people. If the people did not recognized Jesus as the savior because of His teachings than how can the Bible say as follows:

John 4:40-42 — So when the Samaritans came to him, they urged him to stay with them, and he stayed two days. And because of his words many more became believers.

Christ Ahnsahnghong testified to Him being the Christ through His writings, and using the Scriptures… just like Jesus(Luke 24:25-27).

see this link: How did Ahnsahnghong say He was the Christ?

It is not an exaggeration, because as I specified “From my research…” – and my research is based on the doctrine and the practice of this doctrine. The only way to recognize the true Christ from a false Christ is by studying what they taught, and that’s what my research was based upon..

      • Romeo

Well, the teachings are also similar. So maybe your research is not that good. They use the same verses to teach about the East and Clouds. They also believe in the Root of David the way the WMSCOG believes in it (with different protagonist of course!) and many other prophecies. Also the behavior of the members, and the teachings about people outside of the church is very similar. Also many things about the treatment with the families, the let the dead bury the dead stuff and things like that are taken as radically as in the WMSCOG.

        • The True WMSCOG

Thats why is important to study the Bible, you see, people like yourself can be easily deceived and think that Christ Ahnsahnghong and Moon are the same. You will also come to think that the Unification Church and the WMSCOG are the same in practice, but the fact is that the practice is completely different. The Unification Church does not keep the Sabbath day, nor the Passover.

This article was made for the readers to see and understand that the Unification Church and the WMSCOG are not the same. It doesn’t matter how much people wish to put the WMSCOG in the same category as the Unification Church, we are not the same.

      • Diane

Hello TTW. To understand John 4:40-42, one must first read Jn 4:7-30 about Jesus encounter with the woman. He proved his divinity to her when he told her things about herself that he could never have known as a mere human. This was something miraculous. That is why she believed and called the others, because his words showed him to be something extra-ordinary.
Then verse 39 mentions how many of the Samaritans believed because of the woman’s testimony. What was her testimony? That Jesus told her things he couldn’t have known if he was merely human.
They then invite him to their village and finally say what they do in verse 42. That they have something more than the woman’s testimony. They have heard Jesus’ words for themselves. There is absolutely no indication that these words were teachings. Rather they appear to be more of the same kind that the woman heard, which is Jesus’ word of knowledge, the knowledge about something that a mere human wouldn’t have known.
If teachings of a person prove that he is Christ then we could claim that Paul is Christ also. How about Peter? How about John. How about Moses and Isaiah and Jeremiah and Elijah and Elisha? They too had good teachings but they were not God.
The Christ can be recognized by his works and not by his words. Moses, Elijah, Elisha, Peter, all worked mighty miracles too but in their cases, the miracle were attributed to God, not themselves.
Peter clearly stated that he did it in the name of Jesus.
Where are the miracles worked by Ahn?

        • The True WMSCOG

          Diane,

Jesus did not prove His divinity to the woman by telling her things about herself, for even after Jesus did that the woman still called Him a prophet, not Christ.

John 4:17-19 — “I have no husband,’ she replied. Jesus said to her, “You are right when you say you have no husband…”Sir,” the woman said, “I can see that you are a prophet…”

Now you cannot say that the Samaritans recognized Jesus as the “Savior of the world” simply because He talked about woman’s past? if that’s the case, then any fortune teller can be the Christ. In order for someone to recognize that a man is the Savior of the world based on the words that he is speaking, it must be because his words contain the message of salvation; that is what Apostle Peter did.

John 6:66-69 — From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him. “You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve. Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We believe and know that you are the Holy One of God.”

In the passage above you can find the story about Jesus feeding 5,000 people with 5 fish and 2 breads, even though these people saw a miracle, they turned their backs and no longer followed Jesus. In the other hand, when Jesus asked the 12 if they were leaving also, what did Peter say? “Lord, to whom shall we go? I have never seen anyone feed 5,000 people with 5 fish and 2 breads?” NO!… Peter stayed and followed Jesus because he spoke the words of Eternal life.

also an FYI… Teachings can be words.

I also never said that SOLELY the teachings let us recognize the Christ, but in the other verse I quoted in the article, it is also the prophesies He fulfills (John 1:44).

You make a terrible mistake when you compare Moses, Elijah, Paul, Peter, John, Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Elisha to God. The reason is because all those forefathers of faith admitted that their teachings did not come from themselves but from God. The reason they were recognized as prophets is because the words that they spoke came from God, in the other hand, when Jesus spoke He did it with authority.

If you expect to recognize the Christ by miracles, you are playing a dangerous game, for the Bible says that miracles will be the work of false Christs:

Matthew 24:24 — For false Christs and false prophets wills appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect — if that were possible.

2 Thessalonians 2:9 — The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders…

I don’t need miracles to believe in Christ Ahnsahnghong, the truth that He taught and the prophecies He fulfilled are enough for me.

          • Diane

            Hi TTW.
            You said
            ———————————————————-
Jesus did not prove His divinity to the woman by telling her things about herself, for even after Jesus did that the woman still called Him a prophet, not Christ.

            ———————————————————-
You are right. Initially she called him a prophet because of what he revealed about her. But immediately after, in verse 26, he directly tells her that he is the Messiah. So he showed her a great sign and then confirmed his identity.
            Ahn did neither.
If you read verses 39-42, you will understand that the words the Samaritans refer to are not teaching but words similar to what the woman experienced. That is clear when the Samaritans connect the two.
Peter too would never have accepted Jesus as the Messiah if he had not seen all those signs during his time with Jesus. In John’s gospel, Peter was evangelized by his brother Andrew. Andrew himself became a follower of Jesus because John the baptist pointed to him and said he was the lamb of God.
So you can easily see that his disciples did not believe in him just because of his teachings.
Take the story of Nathaniel in John 1:43-51. Nathaniel confesses who Jesus is in vs 49. Immediately Jesus tells him that he has believed because of a great sign and he will see still more.
All through the gospels, it is clear that they believed in Jesus because of the signs (which were also prophesied by the way).
One more example. Luke 5:1-11. Jesus gave a teaching to the crowd while sitting in Peter’s boat. But that was hardly enough for Peter. Immediately after that Jesus worked a miracle. That had the impact on Pater.
Are you minimizing the value of the miracles that Jesus worked?
There have been hundreds of prophets, thousands of preachers but only one Jesus Christ who worked all those signs and claimed to be God.
Others who have followed have also worked wondrous signs from time to time but they always did it in Jesus’ name not their own.

          • The True WMSCOG

Then why didn’t Peter say as follows:

“Lord to whom shall we go, I have never seen anyone walk on water?” or “Lord to whom shall we go, I have never seen anyone raise people from the dead?” or “Lord to whom shall we go, I have never seen anyone cure the blind?”??????

If it was on the basis of miracles, then all the people who left Jesus at that time should have stayed, for Jesus had just showed them a great miracle.

I did not say that His disciples believed in Him solely on His teachings, they also believed in Him because of the fulfillment of prophecies.

I am not minimizing the value of the miracles that Jesus worked, What I am saying is that you can’t rely on miracles to recognize the 2nd coming of Christ. Even some of those who saw the miracles did not believe in Jesus 2,000 years ago.

          • Diane

For the most part, Jesus worked miracles through his words. When Peter says you have the words of eternal life, it is not his teaching but his miraculous words that brought people to life, healed paralytics, lepers, etc.
You downplay this most important characteristic of Jesus’ ministry for obvious reasons.
We identify Jesus through prophecy and his direct claim to be god. Ahn had no such claim. The prophecies you claim are so vague that they can fit numerous people.

          • The True WMSCOG

Im not downplaying the miraculous works of Christ, I am just making the point that it was not because of miracles that the disciples believed in Jesus, if so Judas should have not betrayed Him, for Judas Iscariot also saw the miracles. as it is defined,”Words of Eternal Life” means words that can give eternal life.

John 8:51 — I tell you the truth, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death.

Did Jesus say: “If anyone sees my miracles and believes in me will never see death?” NO.

We identify Christ Ahnsahnghong also through prophecy and his direct claim of being God through His books (You dont want to believe it, thats another thing).

Let me ask you this: Did Jesus write a book where He claimed to be God??? and don’t say the Bible, because the Bible is the testimony of those who walked and witnessed the things Jesus did. So in other words your faith in Jesus is based on what someone else said. which is fine, because in that case we are all on the same boat. I just wanted to give you something to think about.

Who else fits the “vague”(as you like to call them) prophecies that Christ Ahnsahnghong fulfilled? Who came from the east, baptized in 1948, preached the Passover of the New Covenant and restored Zion, the place where Gods feasts are kept???? You said numerous people, so I expect at least you name 10 who fulfilled EVERY single one of those prophecies, all of them together?

          • Diane

            You said:

That argument has no value because Judas also heard his teaching and still betrayed him.

Again this has nothing to do with the point I made. Our disagreement was about whether the disciples believed in him because of his teaching or because he exhibited divine power.

            ———————————————————————-
Lets face it. There were no direct claims. They are implied claims. And that too, they can have several interpretations. There is not a single direct claim like the direct claims Jesus made.

The only record of writing Jesus ever did was when he wrote on the sand. He spoke his words and his disciples wrote them down. They quoted the words he spoke and he clearly said he was the messiah. I believe the words of Jesus.

I don’t believe those are prophecies to begin with. Those are just a collection of things you use to try and eliminate others.
East is imprecise. Everything east of Jerusalem is East. It is highly debatable if the second coming will be from the East.
1948 is taken from the fig tree which is a metaphor and not a prophecy. Moreover there were millions from the east baptized in 1948.
What you call the passover of the new covenant is something the Catholic and Eastern churches have been practising unbroken since the time of the apostles. The feasts you talk about were specifically for the Jews in the middle east. We are not required to keep them.

          • The True WMSCOG

            God bless you Diane!

Obviously you have your own opinion, and lack understanding of the Feasts of God. since you claim that they are only for the Jews. There is quite a difference between the feasts of God which we keep, and Christ and His disciples kept, to the Feasts of God the Jews keep. That is why the Bible makes a distinction between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant. The dates for the feasts of God never changed, the only thing that changed is that we do not slaughter animals as sacrifices for the feasts, since Christ became the ultimate sacrifice (Hebrews 10:1-10), all we have to do is keep them.

Please let me know clearly why do you come and comment on this website, what is your intention? Do you come here because you want to know more about our Church? How did come to know about our Church? Is there a local Church of God where you live? My hope in creating this website was to clarify the erroneous rumors about our church, and give people a chance to do a bible study in the Church of God… Have you visited our Church? I am just curious, because you are very active commentator on my site.

If you are waiting to recognize Christ through miracles, please be careful… As I pointed out to you earlier, you can get deceived by false prophets.

Peter clearly told Jesus, “you have the words of eternal life”, that has nothing to do with miracles… Peter didn’t say “you have the words of power” or “you have the words of miracles”. Because Judas did not believe the words of Eternal Life, he betrayed Jesus, just like many other reject Christ Ahnsahnghong today.

If one of Christ Ahnsahnghongs followers, who walked with Him wrote a book saying that Christ Ahnsahnghong told Him directly: “I am the Christ”… Would you believe in Christ Ahnsahnghong then???

Just like Jesus didn’t write any books, but we are just going by what He told His disciples… would you believe if Christ Ahnsahnghong did the same thing???

The east is not vague, it is very clear… The Seal of God is the Passover of the New Covenant, it is only the WMSCOG that started in South Korea that is now preaching the Passover of the New Covenant to the whole world… therefore since the Passover of the New Covenant came from South Korea, it makes South Korea the East… Can you name me another Church that started from the East (where the sun rises as it is in Greek) that is now preaching the Passover of the New Covenant to the whole world????

            So parables cannot be prophecies???

And no, The Passover we preach, is definitely not the one kept in any Catholic nor Easter Church, the fact that you made that statement shows you really do not know nor understand our Church.

            “”””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””
I already know Jesus and I’m not at all afraid of the second coming, whenever it happens, as I live by Jesus’ commands.
You seem to imply that all those who reject Ahnsahnghong are like Judas. I have already explained to you. If Judas’ action in betraying Jesus proves that he did not believe the words of eternal life, it also proves that he did not believe in any other evidence as well. You focus on Jesus’ teaching alone as proof because it serves your point about Ahnsahnghong.
Secondly, the same argument could be used by anyone else who proposes that they are the second coming. In their perspective, you would be Judas also for rejecting their version of second coming Christ.
Once again you bring up Peter’s statement. What are the words of eternal life that Peter was referring to?

            “““““““““““““““““““““““““““““““““““
If one of Christ Ahnsahnghongs followers, who walked with Him wrote a book saying that Christ Ahnsahnghong told Him directly: “I am the Christ”… Would you believe in Christ Ahnsahnghong then???
Just like Jesus didn’t write any books, but we are just going by what He told His disciples… would you believe if Christ Ahnsahnghong did the same thing???
            “”””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””
Sure, if the writer had credibility in my view. The witnesses of Jesus have credibility because they gave up their lives for the truth.

The east is not vague, it is very clear…
            “””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””
What about the East is clear? Would you please inform me the scripture passages?

The Seal of God is the Passover of the New Covenant, it is only the WMSCOG that started in South Korea that is now preaching the Passover of the New Covenant to the whole world… therefore since the Passover of the New Covenant came from South Korea, it makes South Korea the East… Can you name me another Church that started from the East (where the sun rises as it is in Greek) that is now preaching the Passover of the New Covenant to the whole world????
            “””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””
The New Covenant seal of God is BAPTISM and not passover. The Old Covenant seal of God was circumcision which has now been replaced by baptism.

            So parables cannot be prophecies???
            “”””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””
I did not say that. All parables are not prophecies. A few are. For the most part, parables are metaphorical and are used to explain concepts.

            ““““““““““““““““““““““““““““““““““
And no, The Passover we preach, is definitely not the one kept in any Catholic nor Easter Church, the fact that you made that statement shows you really do not know nor understand our Church.
            “”””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””
Yes. What you call the passover and what other churches call the passover is certainly different. Please read 1 Cor 11:17-34 and tell me isn’t Paul writing about consuming the body and blood of Jesus? What do you call it? Is that the passover you preach?

          • The True WMSCOG

The feasts of God are important because they let us recognize where Zion is (Isaiah 33:20, Hebrews 12:22-24). Zion is Gods dwelling place (Psalm 132:13-14) and the place where God promised eternal life (133:3). So we do need the feasts of God for our salvation.

No it will not change the way I respond, but I just want to understand your background, since it helps find a middle ground for discussion.

You live by Jesus’ commands?? Which ones?

No, I focus on the teaching because the Bible says that in the last days many false Christs will come and deceive people with miracles. You insisting that we have to recognize Christ through miracles, will lead others to be deceived by false prophets and false Christs. However although false prophets and Christs come and do miracles, the one thing they cannot do is teach the truth which Jesus taught 2,000 years ago.

What are the words of Eternal Life Peter was referring to… well is in the same book of John

John 6:54 – Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

If, the writer had credibility? Well how do you establish this credibility? By giving up your life for the truth? What do you consider the truth to be?

So if the seal of God is baptism… Who is the angel from the east who brought it?

Jesus parables where also prophecies. The fig tree is a prophecy, regarding the rebirth of Israel which is described as a fig tree in many parts of the Bible.

Yes the Passover is when we receive Jesus’ Body and blood. 1 Corinthians 11:17-34 is about the Passover of the New Covenant…

  6. Magdalena P.

This article was very informative and eye opening to the TRUTH. The best way to recognize Christ is through his teachings and the prophecies he fulfilled, not by a generalization other people may have about Him. Jesus came 2,000 years ago and people failed to receive him because of their generalizations. What we need not focus on is the slander and false accusations, but the Word of God. Please study the Bible with WMSCOG so you can see everything clearly through the Bible.

  7. Cassaundra

How simple. By his words and by what the scriptures wrote about him we can know and believe without a doubt that Christ Ahnsahnghong is Second Coming Christ, God Almighty. Unfortunately, those who oppose the truth like to play on basic human emotions and way of thinking. The human mind naturally categorizes places, ideas, etc. together almost like a computer stores information. Unfortunately we categorize things incorrectly from time to time. Even though from the outside it looks as if our Church and the unification church are the same, we are very different. The World Mission Society Church of God fulfills all prophecies. We have true God, we know all mysteries. We are the Church who will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Don’t let anybody sway you from believing that.

    • Diane

Dear Cassaundra. I would like to explain one small fact here. It is the matter of causality. You appear to think that people reject the WMSCOG because of its resemblance, superficial or otherwise, to the unification church. That is far from true.
Many people I know, reject the WMSCOG because of disagreement with its doctrines. Having done this, they then find resemblance with the unification church.

  8. Jacob

Truly thank Father and Mother for this one. After reading all the other comments, I can see that most of us have heard that the WMSCOG and the Unification Church are the same. I was told that we broke out of the unification church but when you look at the teachings, they are not the same. The World Mission Society Church of God follows the bible and follows God. Those whose eyes are blind will be so quick to accept a mans opinion or comment on the internet but when you show the scriptures proving Christ Ahnsahnghong is Almighty God they cant deny it because its right there but they will still argue. Hopefully through this many eyes can be opened and come to God.

  9. Stephanie G

I agree with the this article 100%. WMSCOG gets picked on because of rumors that say it is similar to Unification Church. Only by coming to WMSCOG will you be able to know for sure why and how we are different from every other church.

  10. Yudelka

This is so true. Even in our everyday life we come across a society that easily judges. Usually our judging might seem correct. In Spanish there is even a famous phrase that goes “tell me who you’re with and I’ll tell you who you are”. HOWEVER, clearly in the teachings of God is the opposite. Christ even taught His disciples that the whole world would reject them because it also rejected Him. He also taught that when He returns, that generation would reject Him as well and He must suffer many things. So truly the ONLY way to recognize God in the flesh is through all His prophesies. I’m so thankful to have been given the opportunity to understand the prophesies and that’s why I fully believe Christ AhnSahngHong is the 2nd Coming of Jesus and God Almighty. All His works are all over the Bible! Those who don’t believe are those who haven’t studied the Bible. And those who fully know who is Jesus according to Bible prophesy, will fully believe Christ AhnSahngHong.

  11. MILAGROS

In the WMSCOG we only believe and follow the teachings of Christ Ahnsahnghong according to the Bible, people judge following their own points of view and concepts, which have nothing to do with the concept of God, that is inconsistent in what they say without knowing the truth, all the truth for our salvation is found only in the Bible, which testifies that there is only one true Church established by Christ God Almighty.

“We are the children of God, we live in the world
but that does not mean we are of the world “

  12. Ritchelle

I am so grateful for this article because it is very eye opening. People go to such great lengths in order to find faults in the Church of God and this article makes a very important point. To really know the truth, you have to go to the source, that is the scriptures. The scriptures clearly point to Christ Ahnsahnghong to be God Almighty. To compare the two just because they are from the same country is so far fetched. I implore to anybody before you believe the words of men, please visit the Church of God and hear the words of God.

  13. Michael R

Many people try to associate Christ Ahnsahnghong with the teachings of the unification church because they do not know the scriptures as the bible says ,”Jesus replied, “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God. ”
    (Matthew 22:29 NIV)

When you look at the teachings of unification church they do not keep the teachings that Christ established in his first coming. Such as, Sabbath Day , “He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. (Luke 4:16 NIV)
Passover ,”And he said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. “(Luke 22:15 NIV)

Unification church keeps Sunday service and other man made ideas in which Christ was against at his first coming,”He replied, “Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written: “ ‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.’ (Mark 7:6, 7 NIV)
Church of God World Mission Society keeps all the teachings In accordance with the bible, because according to the bible second coming Christ will teach us all the truth. “But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. “(John 16:13 NIV)

Christ Ahnsahnghong has brought all the truth to the world, unfortunately people judge before they do a thorough study of the bible.
As the religious leaders judged Jesus at his first coming

While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” (Matthew 9:10, 11 NIV)

The scriptures clearly testify Christ Ahnsahnghong and has nothing to do with the unification church.

  14. Yanitza

Just as 2000 years ago the Jews could not accept Jesus as the Messiah, the same has happened with his second coming only because what has happened before will happen again… Ecc 1:9 “What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.” Ecc 3:15 “Whatever is has already been, and what will be has been before; and God will call the past to account.”

We can come across all types of web pages slandering the truth about WMSCOG, and no matter how much they try to go against it, what difference does it make if we tried to defend it?! The truth is the truth whether they believe in it or not. And yet they claim to know the Scriptures Jn 5:39-40 “You study the Scriptures diligently because you think in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life.”

In the times of Jesus, didn’t they know the Scriptures?! Same goes as far as his second coming. Many times we will find ourselves debating with others about the truth; will some ever listen?! Most likely not, Jesus testified in Mk 7:6-8 “He replied, Isiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written: These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules. You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to human traditions.”
Mt 13:13-15 “This is why I speak to them in parables: Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand. In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving. For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.”

These people will never believe, they get offended with the Lord’s teachings Jer 6:10 “To whom can I speak and give warning? Who will listen to me? Their ears are closed so they cannot hear. The word of the Lord is offensive to them; they find no pleasure in it.”

Jesus testified Jn 8:47 “Whoever belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.”

Jn 10:27 “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”

At WMSCOG our mission is to search and find our heavenly family who truly believe in what the Spirit has said to the churches. Ro 10:15 “And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

So brothers and sisters, lets continue to deliver the good news of our Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother; keeping in mind one thing… Mt 7:6 “Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.”

    • Diane

      Hello Yanitza.
It is very interesting that so many WMSCOG members say the same thing you have with a bit of variation perhaps.
      ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
Just as 2000 years ago the Jews could not accept Jesus as the Messiah, the same has happened with his second coming only because what has happened before will happen again… Ecc 1:9 “What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.”
      ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

The implication is that what has happened with Ahnsahnghong is exactly the same thing that happened 2000 years ago. So shall we just start examining a few things?
      1. 2000 years ago an angel of the Lord appeared to Mary and announced she was to be the mother of the child of God. Anything like that with Mrs Ahn (Ahnsahnghong’s biological mother)?
      2. 2000 years back Mary conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit. What about Mrs. Ahn?
      3. 2000 years ago 3 wise men followed a star and arrived at the place where the child was born. And in 1918?
      4. 2000 years ago an angel appeared to Joseph who told him to flee with his family to Egypt. Did Mr Ahn have a visitation telling him to go with wife and child to….. say N Korea?
      5. Jesus grew in wisdom and stature. What is know about Ahnsahnghong until the age of 30?
      6. At the baptism of Jesus 2000 years back, heavens opened, the voice of God was heard and the Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus. Anything like that in 1948?

Want me to go on? I guess not.
Lets just look at the last point again. What was that? Oh! God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, all there at the same time? Which age was that again?

      • The True WMSCOG

This argument is such a straw-man argument, that is not even worth debating.

        Yanitza said:

Just as 2,000 years ago the Jews could not accept Jesus as the Messiah, the same has happened with his second coming…”

In other words, the similarity that is being drawn is that of the rejection of Jesus, by those who claimed to believe in Him. Not all the other things you are mentioning.

Diane seriously, your arguments and rhetoric is getting a little annoying, and circular. Although we give you the reasoning and the answers to your questions, you still want to disagree. So just carry on with your faith, and we will carry on with ours. If you feel comfortable keeping Sunday service, Christmas and other things that are not found in the Bible…that’s your choice.

        • Diane

You fail to observe that Yanitza supported her statement by using Ecc 1:9 “What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.”
When you consider her support statement, you cannot say mine is a circular argument.
When I disagree, I give you sound reasoning.

          • The True WMSCOG

Her quoting of the verse was to show the point of her argument and that is: Just like 2,000 years ago Jesus was rejected by those who claimed to believe in God, it is the same today with Christ Ahnsahnghong. That is why all the other things you listed and brought up become a straw-man argument.

        • Diane

Sorry I meant straw-man argument, not circular.

  15. Ed

    Amen.
The Church of God is the Holy Mountain Zion prophesied in the Bible. The only way to distinguish truth from falsehood is by Believing the Word of God. No matter how many impostors there are, there is only one Truth. Please don’t be so easily influenced by the opinions of others because at the end of the day it’s just an opinion not a fact.

Almighty God the Creator sacrificed so much for everyone to hear this Truth the least we can do is receive it.
