Claim against Christ Ahnsahnghong
Some people say that Christ Ahnsahnghong contradicts the Bible because He taught that the Passover is the greatest commandment of the law.
However in the Bible it says that loving God with all our heart, soul and mind is the greatest commandment in the law, not the Passover.
Matthew 22:37-38 – Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.
Clarification of Christ Ahnsahnghongs’ teachings
At first glance there seems to be a contradiction, however when you understand the fundamental principle behind the Passover, you will understand that there is no contradiction on what Christ Ahnsahnghong taught. That principle is the fact that God acknowledges those who keep the Passover, as the ones who love God with all their heart, soul and mind. Let’s see an example of this:
2 Kings 23:25 – Neither before nor after Josiah was there a king like him who turned to the LORD as he did – with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his strength, in accordance with all the Law of Moses.
In the passage above we can see that King Josiah is acknowledged by God to have kept the first and greatest commandment, but why did he receive this recognition?
2 Kings 23:21-23 – The king gave this order to all the people: “Celebrate the Passover to the LORD your God, as it is written in this Book of the Covenant.” Not since the days of the judges who led Israel, nor throughout the days of the kings of Israel and the kings of Judah, had any such Passover been observed. But in the eighteen year of King Josiah, this Passover was celebrated to the LORD in Jerusalem.
When we read a few passages above we come to find out that the reason King Josiah received that acknowledgement is because he commanded all the people of his kingdom to celebrate the Passover.
Let’s see another example:
Deuteronomy 6:5-9 – Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads…
The passage above is speaking about how the first and greatest commandment will be sign on our hands and foreheads; however we find a similar passage in the book of Exodus, speaking about the celebration of the Passover.
Exodus 13:8-10 – On that day tell your son, ‘I do this because of what the LORD did for me when I came out Egypt.’ This observance will be for you like a sign on your hand and a reminder on your forehead that the law of LORD is to be on your lips. For the LORD brought you out of Egypt with his mighty hand. You must keep this ordinance at the appointed time, year after year.
As we can see from the verses above, the Passover and the First and greatest commandment to love God with all our heart, soul and mind are very connected. God acknowledges those who keep the Passover to be the ones who love Him with all their heart, soul and mind.
This clearly shows that Christ Ahnsahnghong let us understand the way to love God with all our heart, soul and mind by keeping the Passover.
So is Christ Ahnsahnghong really contradicting the Bible? Not really. However, what we can say is that the author of the comment doesn’t really know what he/she is talking about.
