Jesus did miracles, what about Christ Ahnsahnghong and Mother?
I have heard different people say: “Christ Ahnsahnghong and Mother cannot be God because they don’t do any miracles; Jesus in the other hand did many miracles, and that is why Jesus is God.”
Today people expect the second coming of Christ to behave the same way as He did 2,000 years ago, going around healing the blind, the deaf and doing all sorts of miracles. Even when I asked people: “how would you expect to recognize second coming Christ?” they say: “I will know through the miracles He will do.” But people who say such things do not even know why Jesus performed miracles 2,000 years ago, so before we can make such claims, we need to understand the reason behind Jesus doing miracles at His first coming.
Why did Jesus perform miracles?
It is no secret for anyone that Jesus was well known for doing miracles, however what most people do not know is that the only reason Jesus did miracles, was to fulfill Bible prophecy:
Isaiah 35:3-6 – … say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.” Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. Then will the lame leap like a deer and the mute tongue shout for joy…”
As we can see in the passage above, the prophet Isaiah wrote that when God comes, the blind will see, the lame will walk and the deaf will hear. That is the reason why 2,000 years ago Jesus Christ did miracles, because it was already prophesied that He had to do this
Matthew 11:2-4 – When John (the Baptist) heard in prison what Christ was doing, he sent this disciples to ask him, “Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?” Jesus replied, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor…”
At that time John the Baptist had doubts whether Jesus was the Christ or not, so when asked the question Jesus quoted the prophecy of Isaiah 35, this lets us understand more clearly that the only reason why Jesus did miracles, was to fulfill what was already prophesied about Him, for this reason we should focus more on the prophesies in the Bible about the Christ, rather than on the miracles themselves.
Witnessing miracles will not guarantee we will recognize the Christ.
In reality, many of the people who witnessed miracles did not necessarily believe in God, nor did they follow Jesus Christ. Taking an example from history, the Israelites that were delivered from Egypt, witnessed many miracles on their journey towards Canaan (i.e. Manna from heaven, water out of a rock, the red sea being divided), but still most of them died in the desert due to their disbelief. Also many people saw the miracles Jesus performed, but they still didn’t believe:
Matthew 9:32-34 – While they were going out, a man who was demon-possessed and could not talk was brought to Jesus. And when the demon was driven out, the man who had been mute spoke. The crowd was amazed and said, “Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel.” But the Pharisees said, “It is by the prince of demons that he drives out demons.”
Miracles will be sign of the False prophets in the Last Days.
If we only focus on whether second coming Christ will do miracles or not, we might end up following a false prophet or a false Christ, for Jesus already warned us that miracles and wonders are the signs of false prophets:
Matthew 24:24 – For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect – if that were possible.
2 Thessalonians 2:9 – The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders…
As we can see through the passages above, if we focus on recognizing the Christ through miracles we might end up following a false prophet rather than Christ who comes for a second time. It is only through the prophecies and their fulfillment that we can recognize Christ when He comes.
John 1:44-45 — Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida. Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote — Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”
As we can see through the passage above, it was through the prophecies in the scriptures that the disciples were able to recognize Jesus as the Christ. In the same way it is only through the prophecies and their fulfillment that we are able to recognize Christ Ahnsahnghong as the Second Coming Christ and Heavenly Mother as the Bride of the Holy Spirit.
