WMSCOG a Religious Group in Korea
Where was the WMSCOG founded?
When browsing the web, I came across an article that questioned the beliefs of the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) due to the fact that it started in South Korea. It’s ironic, but when you look into the Bible, the same thing was done to Jesus Christ 2,000 years ago:
John 1:45-46 “Philip found Nathanael and told him, ‘We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote – Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.’ ‘Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?’ Nathanael asked…”
As we see in the passage, even 2,000 years ago the people of Israel had a fixed concept about Nazareth and that made Nathanael judge and doubt the credibility of Jesus just because He was from there.
That is the same bias the article was trying to push on the reader regarding the WMSCOG and its founder. They even quote a Korean professor saying, “There are many gods and Jesus[es] in Korea.” This is true; there are many people in Korea who claim to be Second Coming Christ. Doesn’t that make you wonder why? I mean, South Korea is not even a historically Christian country – then why is this phenomena happening?
Imitations cannot exist without an authentic one
Well, let me answer that with an analogy: in today’s society, brand name items are very popular. You have brands like Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci, and so on. These brands are so popular and so expensive that many imitations appear in the market. Now let me ask you a question: without a real Chanel bag, can there be imitations? Or if I say I have an imitation of a Louis Vuitton wallet, is that possible without a real Louis Vuitton wallet existing? No, that would be impossible.
Now why do so many people who claim to be Second Coming Christ appear in South Korea? The answer is simple: because the real Second Coming Christ must come from there. Let’s see:
Hebrews 9:28 “So Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.”
According to the Bible, Second Coming Christ must appear in the last days and bring salvation. Salvation literally means to save someone from harm. Then where does the salvation work start from in the last days?
Revelation 7:1-3 “After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth to prevent any wind from blowing on the land or on the sea or on any tree. Then I saw another angel coming up from the east, having the seal of the living God. He called out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm the land and the sea: ‘Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God.’”
Before the great disaster comes on the last day according to the Bible prophecy, the work of salvation must start from the east. The original language of the Bible’s New Testament, which is Greek, communicates the same directional point: “…from the rising of the sun…”
Now the question is, who is the savior from the east? And where is the east according to the Bible? That’s a topic for another discussion…

If a person has never studied at the World Mission Society Church of God they are quick to believe this claim because just like Nathanael 2000 years ago everyone has a preconceived notion about how, when and where Second Coming Christ will come. But had Nathanael not kept an open mind about Jesus Christ to judge for himself he would never have become a disciple of Jesus Christ. In John 1:45-46 Nathanael said when told the one Moses wrote about had been found and was from Nazareth, “Can anything good come from there?” But he became a disciple of Jesus after meeting Jesus. Because he kept an open mind he was able to walk with God in the flesh and be one of the leaders of the early church. In the same way anyone who does not know about Christ Ahnsahnghong must come to the World Mission Society Church of God and learn about God’s Second Coming so they can see for themselves. In Revelation 7:1-3 the Bible says that John saw an angel coming up from the east, having the seal of the living God. Only God can have the seal of the living God. So we can conclude that when God comes again to bring salvation , Hebrews 9:28, he will come from the east. If you haven’t studied about Christ Ahnsahnghong come to the World Mission Society Church of God and judge for yourself.

If we look at all the prophecies that second coming Christ fulfilled we can see Gods purpose and salvation. When we look further in depth into the prophecies concerning king David and Melchizedek one can come to understand why God must come from the east. Also concerning that false Christ will appear is in the bible. Concerning the second coming Mat 24:24-27 ” For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you ahead of time.
“So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it.
And regarding to the appearance of second coming Christ: Mat 24: 27 “For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man”.
As we can see through the bible just as it shows that false Christ will appear also Second Coming Christ will appear and bring salvation. This salvation as it says in verse 27 should come from the east. When we study the prophecies of the bible we can see that Christ appears according to the prophecies. I earnestly encourage many to come to the World Mission Society Church of God and earnestly study the scriptures so that we can seek God. -
WMSCOG was founded in South Korea? 1CC came from Israel? YES! Does it matter where Christ comes from? God Almighty created the whole universe, can’t he come from wherever he pleases? It’s not like the places are just random. At Christ 1st coming it was prophesied where he would come from, the scriptures testified to it(John 1:45)! Now it is also prophesied where Christ will come from at his 2nd Coming(Ish. 46:10 & Rev. 7:1). Everything God does is through his salvation plan, with a purpose/reason. By denying about South Korea, you deny the bible and prophecy fulfillment. We can’t just pick & choose what to believe. By doing so your denying God’s words. Only through the scriptures can you come to understand. We must listen and follow Christ Ahnsahnghong’s voice & teachings, because he is THE Christ not A Christ.

Hmm! funny I had the same question about the angel coming from the east bringing salvation in Rev 7. This angel is actually the Son of Man 2nd coming Christ who comes as lighting from the east visible even in the west (Matt24:27). Then where was the writer of the book of Revelation? When we read Rev 1:9 He was in the island Patmos when he saw the angel (2nd coming) from the east. When you locate Patmos in a map and you trace a line straight towards the east it lands exactly on the same latitude of South Korea the Holy Land.

Well… I certainly can’t see Him coming from another race or country will make someone more Christ like. What’s wrong with being Korean? Nothing. So I’m just gonna go with the bible, the bible says east then that’s it!

While reading this particular post I am reminded of a game show entitled, “To Tell The Truth.”
The show featured a panel of four celebrities attempting to correctly identify a described contestant who had an unusual occupation or experience. This central character is accompanied by two impostors who pretended to be the central character. The celebrity panelists questioned the three contestants; the impostors were allowed to lie but the central character was sworn “to tell the truth”. After questioning, the panel attempts to identify which of the three challengers is telling the truth and is thus the central character.
At the start of each episode the three challengers were introduced, all claiming to be the central character. The announcer typically asked the challengers, who stand side by side, “What is your name, please?” Each challenger then states, “My name is [central character’s name].” The celebrity panelists then read along as the host read aloud a signed affidavit about the central character.
The panelists were each given a period of time to question the challengers. Questions were directed to the challengers by number (Number One, Number Two and Number Three), with the central character sworn to give truthful answers, and the impostors permitted to lie and pretend to be the central character.
After the questions were complete, each member of the panel voted on which of the challengers they believed to be the central character, either by writing the number on a card or holding up a card with the number of their choice, without consulting the other panelists.
Once the votes were cast, the host asked, “Will the real [person’s name] please stand up?” The central character then stood, often after some brief playful feinting and false starts among all three challengers. The two impostors then reveal their real names and their actual occupations. Prize money was awarded to the challengers based on the number of incorrect votes the impostors draw.
While this is a silly game show that aired over a few decades, it really is a perfect description of what is going on nowadays with the appearance of so many so called “2nd coming Christs.” Because the true 2nd coming Christ exists then the impostors also exist. However, much like the game show “To Tell the Truth,” only can we recognize and know the true 2nd Coming Christ when we ask questions pertaining to the scriptures. Only the true 2nd Coming Christ is able to answer correctly and accurately.
As Christ Himself testified 2000 years ago, “these are the scriptures that testify about me…” We have to recognize, see and know Christ through the Bible. Through the prophecies of the Bible God allowed us to know what to expect from Christ when He appears a second time. Of course one of those prophecies being that He would come from the east… But this is not the only prophecy. The Bible testifies also when He should come, how He should come, what He should do and so much more. The problem is people don’t take the time to ask the right questions or listen to the answers.
On the game show, “To Tell the Truth,” the celebrities who were asking the questions were not the ones to take home any prize money. They were there simply for entertainment value. However, the imposters were the ones to take home prize money if they deceived any of the celebrities into thinking they were the real central character. It is the same now, false Christs exist and are attempting to deceive the people of this world into believing they are the real second coming Christ, when in fact they are not.
“For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.” II Corinthians 11:13-15
Let us be those who are not deceived, but rather those who ask the right questions and listen to the answers carefully when they are given.
The World Mission Society was established by Christ Ahnsahnghong in South Korea, which was exactly as the Bible prophesied.

The article makes a ton of sense to me. The idea to question a church’s beliefs based on their original location sounds like a fixed idea to me. Unfortunately fixed ideas are tough to break. I believe the information and logic provided in this article is more than enough to break the concept though.
I remember walking down 42nd street in New York hearing a man whispering “Rolex, Rolex, Rolex.” He seemed to be solo and wasn’t really dressed to sell. It is easy to assume that the watches he was selling are imitations rather than the original. Then would it be rational for me to believe that all Rolex watches bought in New York are imitations?
As for the spiritual side of the coin, we can only find the truth about Second Coming Christ through the Scriptures in which he’s testified in. The fact that he will come a second time from the east gives us a strong hint that the place will be somewhere in Asia. The only way to pinpoint the precise location is well… as the writer said: “That’s a topic for another discussion.”

Wow!!! The analogy towards Imitations and Authentic is perfect. why? because its true. Something Fake cannot exist without something real.Than in the same way Christ Ahnsahnghong came from the east just like the scriptures testify, He came from South Korea and Founded the Church of God, but just like something fake cannot exist without following the pattern of something real than all these false 2nd coming-Christ couldn’t exist. Who did they need to copy? WMSCOG.Does this mean their real? No, though they may look the same, they don’t teach the same nor do they act the same. they don’t come from the same foundation/Teachings as WMSCOG. Just like a handbag; a channel handbag has the right materials&stitches but the Fake one looks like but it doesn’t have the same materials, stitches& etc.
God is God-Almighty, Creator of the whole universe. Than if Gods almighty, can he not choose where he will be coming from and to come among his own creation? Yes, he can. 2,000 years ago Jesus Christ came in the Flesh to take away the sins of many. Jesus Christ came from Israel but he came in a time where everyone believed in Jehovah God. Though the scriptures testified him many couldn’t recognize that he was their God. But the true children did. God doesn’t need to look a certain way or come from a certain place. Instead the Bible was left for us and God went according to the scriptures so we could have a way to identify him. These are the times of the last days and History is repeating itself again. Today, Many can proclaim in the name Of Jesus Christ, but 2,000 years ago it wasn’t like that. Than If you follow the word of God with complete Faith than You should realize 2nd Coming Christ has come again to bring Salvation and who the Scriptures point too. Now we shouldn’t base 2nd coming Christ not being true God because he came from South Korea but based on what he restored and truly did everything the bible testified. Including preaching in a country where no one even believed in Christianity.

Honestly, if people are going to receive Christ because they want to know Him and know God according to the Bible’s prophecies and testimonies, they are going to receive Him, regardless of where He appears. However, those who care only about the physical are going to deny Him no matter where He appears. I feel as though wherever Christ would have appeared, people would have negative things to say about it.
For example:
If Christ appeared a second time from the United States of America…
“America!? It is so secular and materialistic and full of sin! How can He be the Christ if He came from the USA?!”
If Christ appeared a second time in China…
“China!? How could the Christ appear from a communist nation? He cannot be the Christ.”
If Christ appeared a second time in a European nation…
“Europe!? That’s the birthplace of Catholocism, where the little horn has its roots. How could Christ appear in such a place?!”
If Christ appeared in India…
“India!? That is a predominantly Hindu nation! How could Christ be born in such a place?”
Etc…
Isn’t it easy to imagine these scenarios if someone testified that Christ appeared from one of these nations?
People are apt to say negative things about Christ no matter where He appears, both at His first and second coming. If it is peculiar for Christ to appear from South Korea, where, then, would the supposed “perfect place” for Christ to appear from be?
As mentioned in previous comments, what is important and noteworthy is that Christ is the Savior and that He taught us how to have salvation. To judge someone based on where they come from or their ethnicity – when applied to any other humans – we call, discrimination, or “judging a book by its cover!”
-
This artice shows very clearly why we cannot judge God with our own knowledge and own opinions. If the bible says salvation in the last days is coming from the east, if we want to be saved, we must accept the country prophesied in the east. Luckily for us there are many detailed prophesies that allow us to identify the true Christ among so many false ones, in the end it’s up to us to see what has been written!
-
we have to get rid of this concept that God must come to a place of OUR choosing. we didn’t even get to choose where we came from, how can we even attempt to choose where GOD will come from. God chose S. Korea from the very beginning, and fulfilled the prophecy to the “t”. there so much more that Christ Ahnsahnghong wants us to know, let us not stumble because of our own concepts. praise be to God who makes all things happen

Those who questioned where the Messiah would come from did not understand that the prophecies approached Christ. (JN 1:45-46). If we don’t understand the prophecies, we come to doubt the credibility of Christ and Christ’s teachings. Doubting credibility makes one lose understanding and all in all gives one a fixed concept or idea on an issue such as this. This is a severe issue pertaining to all who doubt the credibility of the WMSCOG (Just because it started in South Korea). How is it that so much falsehood appears in South Korea?—many men testify to be the Messiah there. However, the Bible prophecies all of this matter. When Christ comes to this earth again (HB 9:28), where will His ministry begin? Where will He bring the ways of life (Gods commands) to? Where will He teach the ways of God? Where will He bring the truth to on this earth? The reason why so much false accusations and rumors are against WMSCOG is because the Church was established by God himself who came in the flesh to bring the ways of God—salvation. The Bible testifies the answer to all these questions, and the Scriptures show that salvation will start from the East. (RV 7:1-3). So where will Second Coming Christ come from? It is only logical to understand that the Church established by God himself will follow the ways of God, and start from the East (Where salvation begins from at His Second Coming). The East is the original place where Christ started his ministry of redemption work for all mankind when he came a second time. We all long to be saved by God and understand the Scriptures, so please study Bible prophecy at the WMSCOG. God will show you the answer to all your questions about any concern you may have about the WMSCOG. Do not be mislead by rumors, the WMSCOG started in the East (South Korea) because this was all done according to prophecy in the Bible.

Yes, truly it is a phenomena!
A place where it’s roots are based on teachings of Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism. One might ask why all of a sudden “Christ!” is being proclaim around all over Korea.
Surely, the shouts for attention point to something spectacular erupting. Darkness tries to hide the light but the splendor of Him who comes will outshine and truth will prevail. Don’t you know this? If you can tell a fake Louis Vuitton bag from the real one, why can’t you tell the True Christ from the false. It’s simple, through what He teaches. If the bag has a stitching that is inconsistent with how the original markings show then it is fake. Same, if one claims to be real but his teaching is inconsistent with the very fundamental truths of the bible then it is clear he is false. We grew up in elementary school with paper worksheets that tested our ability to distinguish the Truth from false. One picture beside a set of 4 look-a-likes, we had to look intently and with great detail to find the matching pair. Even if one looked exactly but had one line missing then we knew it was not the one.
The founder of the World Mission Society Church of God, is the Second Coming Christ!
Christ Ahnsahnghong has taught all the Truth and has proclaimed salvation starting in S. Korea as was prophesied and even to the whole world. His splendor has spread throughout the entire world and will continue to shine, even if those who claim that he is another false christ continue in their bliss… the world will see they fail. A big ol’ elementary F- . Because the words of the bible continue to insist He is who we claim, He is the Christ! The Church of God will continue their bible studies and continue in the teachings given by Him who is. -
The only way to recognize where the true Second Coming Christ would appear is by using the bible. 2,000 years ago, when Jesus Christ appeared on the earth, it was only his disciples(believers) who accepted his coming. Those who rejected Jesus Christ didn’t believe in the bible, in other words, they didn’t believe in God’s words. Nowadays, there are so many christians who are waiting for Second Coming Christ. The reason many fail to recognize where he would come from is because of their fixed concepts, not believing and knowing that the bible is a book of prophecy. Christ Ahnsahnghong who appeared in South Korea, the land of prophecy, is surely testified in the bible. The bible is a guidebook that testifies about not only First, but also Second Coming Christ. All the prophecies in the bible will be fulfilled in God’s appointed time. It is very important to believe in the bible, to accept true Second Coming Christ so that we may receive salvation according to God’s word.

As you study the Bible in the Church of God World Mission Society, you learn first hand of the Churches history from the time Father Christ Ahnsahnghong was born, when He began His ministry until now. The churches history matches up 100% with the Bible prophecies. That’s impossible unless the one who establishes the church IS the one the Bible testifies to. Christ Ahnsahnghong IS testified in the Bible: How, When, and WHERE He should come from. There are time limitations to the works he must perform so that only the true Christ can fulfill the Bible and in the end, prove to be the true Savior. This IS Christ Ahnsahnghong. The one and only God the Father who came in the flesh to reveal the one and only God the Mother, who is with us now. This is why we must study the Bible correctly to discern the truth from the falsehood!
